Combing

Up early to move the car to a safe parking place then reviewed the Melbourne report….much delayed. Once we’d had some tea and toast we drove over to North Berwick and spent most of the day mooching around the town and beachcombing (more sea glass than I’ve found there before). K very excited to have seen a whole field of curlews on the way into town then a rock pippet at the harbour.
We loved the colours of the very blue rocks along the beach and the old changing huts lining the harbour walls (extras). We’d stopped for a delicious raspberry and pistachio Bostock (brioche loaf slice topped with frangipani) with coffee then later shared the most delicious fish chowder, salmon and prawn fish cakes and chips in the Rocketeer. Very yummy!
Home via the car wash (car’s been looking filthy with all the motorway driving and salt on the roads) and supermarket for the things we couldn’t find yesterday for dinner, but both feeling very tired (I’d had another night of only 5 hours sleep) so we slumped on the sofa for a while before preparing supper then I went over to the airport to meet T&Kt. Started to pour with rain as I drove and very windy…not the best welcome for them!
After supper we watched The Menu film….pretty good. Another holiday-feel good day but in such stark contrast to the horrifying rapidly rising death toll after the Turkish/Syrian earthquake….hard to comprehend the scale of it.
