New Gigs

That usual 'getting used to a new prescription' feeling accentuated by now being of 'that' age now when varifocals are needed... But by eck are they better for reading!

Slightly daft, but I've been looking for a good pair of yellow glasses after a holiday in France a number of years ago. In the lovely little town of Semur-en-Auxois there was a rather distinguished, stereotypically stylish, French gent leaving a shop.

Maybe in his late 50s, possibly even early 60s, perfectly coiffured grey locks, a light scarf around his neck despite (or maybe because of) the sun, perfectly cut jacket, slim build, and those yellow glasses...

I've now ticked off one point, after years not finding any, and going down the vintage route instead, then stumbling on Iolla glasses in the otherwise entirely uninspiring St James Quarter - job done.

Now to test what they're like for drawing a should-have-drawn-this-days-ago cartoon for work.

Internet issues at home, still unresolved, mean I've had to go into the office the last three days, and will be doing so again tomorrow. Working through things with the ISP, it's weird they're not able to work out what's going on. My latest (slightly scientifically formed) view is that the mobile router may be shagged (we can't get wired broadband here, or rather we can, but the max speed possible is 3Mbps (that's not a typo), with a guaranteed... 0Mbps... Quite the guarantee... Mobile gives us 50Mbps, connected to an external antenna, and when it's working...
