This morning the crazy bird lady attracted even more to the flock, if we were here much longer I think she'll be able to get all of them off the lake in one go. In all honesty it's great to see, after scattering food on the ground she fills a coconut half with seed which also has a queue of birds waiting to feed.

Today we went to Kingussie to walk to the ruin of Ruthven Barracks then around the Gynack Burn, see extra looking down into a boiling pool of peaty water rushing down the hillside.

Robert Louis Stevenson used to holiday here as a child and float paper boats downstream.

Dark brown is the river.
  Golden is the sand.
It flows along for ever,
  With trees on either hand.

Green leaves a-floating,
  Castles of the foam,
Boats of mine a-boating—
  Where will all come home?

On goes the river
  And out past the mill,
Away down the valley,
  Away down the hill.

Away down the river,
  A hundred miles or more,
Other little children
  Shall bring my boats ashore.
