Skyview

We’ve had a great day exploring Stockholm. We started with a boat trip this morning taking us out of the city for views from the water. It was very cold and Annie wisely sat in the enclosed deck whilst I sat outside on the top most of the way around, brrrrr!

Back in the city centre and using a selection of public transport, we headed out to “Stockholm Live”, an entertainment area with four different facilities including the Avicii Arena, the worlds tallest spherical building. On its outside is the Skyview ride taking you up to the roof by gondola. Definitely our sort of thing and a great view of the city at the top - easy choice for a blip.

We travelled back to the city on the Stockholm underground (very clean and efficient) and then headed over to the excellent Fotografiska, a former customs house but now a photography exhibition space. We enjoyed a fabulous exhibition of photo journalism from the past 100 years.

Back to our hotel on the bus this time but a quick stop for a night photo of Gröna Lund, a theme park we’d seen from the water earlier in the day, see the extra.

In amongst the transport we managed to walk 5.5 miles so felt we’d earned some tasty dinner.
