Life in Sunny Dubai

Sundowners

(12/2/23)

There is a bit of irony to this picture (as good as it looks). After last week's episode at the Canopy Hilton (seen in the distance), I decided I've spent enough energy trying to keep supporting it. Our plan tonight was to have Ladies' Night drinks and a meal at the Sol Sky Bar, but we changed it to enjoy sundowners at Vivaldi at the Sheraton instead. We got to see the view from the other side. It was a good move. The service was heaps better, even if their website said things differently from what is currently happening on the ground. It seems to be a  uniquely Dubai disease that websites don't reflect the latest news.

The restaurant even had a live singer who sang a couple of Burt Bacharach songs while she was getting ready for her first set! Too bad we had to move on to our next venue, Ashiana, for dinner just as she was starting.

We finally got Diane to the Last Exit D89, which I think she liked more than she let on! We had dessert there - choc ices from Geant! :))

Back home before 11, I wanted to pick out pictures for my blip journal, hoping to make a start on my back blips. No chance. I had a Zoom call with a friend in Calgary who will be visiting Dubai at the beginning of March. He's involved with a very interesting project about a new way of learning in the 21st Century. It was good to hear about it and possibly get involved as well. :))
