Harkening to spring

Finally, we got to burn the tree. This is our little celebration of the cross quarter day between winter solstice and the spring equinox. Since last week was so very cold we had to wait. It was very much time since the tree really had dried out so well. It was starting to turn brown. This year was the first time in about 5 years that the tree went up in one whoosh with nothing left over. It was very satisfying. Dan had wired it up with a thin copper wire which ended up melting and the tree actually fell over while still burning. That was a first. The extra is Dan lighting the tree initially.
Now it's nice to get the living space rearranged back sans tree.
I'm still feeling a bit better each day but I imagine it will take this next week to fully get over this cold. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow is not too fraught.
