The sky tonight….

It was blowing a gale when I woke at 5.am. The wind was so strong it would have made walking very unpleasant. So Maisie and I had a rare “sleep-in”.
I have spent hours today listening to National Radio for commentaries on Cyclone Gabrielle and the disastrous effects of its raging storm on many parts of the North Island. Around 8.45am the Government declared a National State of Emergency. Although the South Island is not yet badly affected, my fingers are crossed and I am hoping we do not have too much damage .
