News of a successful conference submission

Rather than add to our online album of shots to represent the locations mentioned in Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war (previously blipped in full in the LornaL journal and now available as a podcast series), today we are sharing some project news.

While undertaking the Platform to Platform (P2P) project to create the audio version of the Diary of the war last year, the academic staff members of the team - Bruce, Hazel and Iain - ran a parallel project on archives and podcasting. Marianne Wilson, who is one of our PhD students, was the research assistant on this project. (If you came to the podcast series launch event on 24th May in Malvern last year, you may remember Marianne as our 1940s tea lady.)

The overall goal of the Heritage Organisations and Podcasts Scoping Study (HOPSS) was to scope the research landscape related to podcasting in cultural heritage work (including archives) from the perspective of those who create audio content based on collections.

Last month we wrote an abstract about the outcomes of HOPSS and submitted it for a conference. We are pleased to report that our submission was successful, and we will be presenting our work at the event in Edinburgh in June

Our blip today is the blog post that Hazel has posted about the details of our successful submission.

We will return to blipping location shots soon. In the meantime, please do check the latest version of our list (12th February 2023) to see if you might be able to contribute a picture to our blipper-sourced photo album
