Don't go there!

I was thinking I should have saved this blip for Silly Saturday but I will stick to the photographer's motto of Carpe Diem.
Passing the Environment Agency yard I noticed this announcement of the change of route for a bridleway. However on closer inspection things didn't seem to make sense. The intended new route (A to C) was the one which everyone has taken for years and the so called original route (A to B) would have been impossible as it passes through the Environment Agency yard  and crosses two water courses with no bridges (although one course has a lock gate but I wouldn't advise trying to trot over it).
On making enquiries all was revealed. When the two water courses were cut through in the 1950's they did actually cut through an old bridleway and although a diversion was created for pedestrians and horses it was never officially listed. It was only during the days of covid lockdown that someone with a lot of time on their hands discovered this discrepancy. So a quick adjustment had to be made to avoid litigation if someone followed the official route.
In extras is a pic of the lock gate that you should have been riding your horse over during the past 70 years.
