Spring is ……….. Springing

This morning I saw the hypnotherapist for the second time, but this was really the first treatment session. I thought it was very good. The only dodgy bit was when my eyes were closed and he was talking to me about my most relaxing place on a small deck on the cruise ship that few knew about, lying on the sun lounger, listening to the background hum of the engines, completely relaxed, with the warm sun on my face…….…then I heard the wind howling outside and struggled not to laugh!

This afternoon it was the U3A photo group meeting, good as always and this month with an interesting talk about the history of photography and where it’s heading with AI.

Covid Update
The weekly ONS infection survey of private households up to w/e 7th Feb showed infections rising in most countries, with an estimated 1 in 55 with the virus in England (up); 1 in 55 in Scotland (up); 1 in 65 in Wales (up) and 1 in 80 in NI (down). The Queen Consort tested positive this week and cancelled all her engagements. Research has shown that ‘for people who have been infected with Covid-19 at least once before, natural immunity against severe disease (hospitalisation and death) was strong and long lasting for all variants (88% or greater at 10 months post infection)’. Catching earlier variants offered reduced immunity against the more transmissible Omicron (36% after 10 months). Another study showed that more than half of long Covid patients suffer from organ damage a year after their initial symptoms (only 13% who took part in the study had required hospital treatment when first diagnosed with Covid).
