Redhead in the Red Flowers

I went out this afternoon to the garden center with the hope of playing Flower Friday. With any luck, the Red Silk Cotton Tree would be in bloom, and it was.

I never realized how many birds eat off the tree, including the red-headed woodpecker. I had to look it up, but I think they are licking the nectar.

To get a better look at the beautiful flower, I put one in my Extras. I used to take them off the ground to decorate my sand castles.
