Beached

Continuing on from previous days, nine confirmed deaths today, with grave concerns for at least another ten people.  There are still almost five thousand reports of uncontactable people.
The incredible stories of survival continue to be told, the touch and go scenarios, the bravery of neighbours putting themselves in grave danger to save others.  While the weather is good now, the devastating job of starting  the massive cleanup, the community spirit is definitely alive and well but where to start,  but start they have.  Some communities have yet to have help reach them because the roads are munted. Power is slowing coming back on, water (as in clean) is a huge problem.
In extra are collages of photos I saved from our online news.  Gives a bit of an idea of the aftermath. (since deleted)
0I’ll leave it at that, but if you have time please take a look with your sound up of this video…..it’s lovely

Doug an I took ourselves off to walk the beach this afternoon, and noticed the rather large tree on the beach.  It’s just arrived but from where, surely not from the cyclone areas. The colours of the Pacific were gorgeous
