Death toll risen to nine.  Still 4500 missing, two temperary morgues have been set up which doesn't bode well.  Heartbreaking. 10,000 people have been displaced.  Power and communications issues continue.
Gisborne city, population 38,000, residents have been asked to stop using water immediately as the regions temporary water plant failed this afternoon..
The heatbreaking stories continue, the TV pictures continue to shock us......its just the most heart wrenching situation.  

Breaks my heart

My friend from Lindis Pass called in today, we had a good chinwag then we went down to the beach.  She was wanting to set up a beach chair with towel, hat etc for 52 frames.  To get the idea I've put one in extra.  I was sitting way behind her using my zoom.  (since deleted)
It was nice to get out, away from the awful news and have some laughs, fresh air and photography.  Nothing quite like the beach to do just that.

Thank you all for your responses given over the last three days, they certainly are appreciated.
