Rain Day

Isla has spent most of the day inside, and rightly so given the weather. We'd been planning a wee bike ride for Mel's dad to try out his new birthday bike (his birthday is on Monday, but the weekend was falling nicely to have a run), but torrents creating rivers in the streets scuppered that. Instead Mel and I headed into town for a few things (new watch (I'm a Swatch-tart); birthday card; new drawing pen; etc.), got soaked despite the brollies, held inward sympathy for the tourists, then came home to dry out, eat some broth (given it felt like winter), and hang around watching the weather being miserable.

Out for dinner (in advance of the aforementioned birthday) a little later, which will be a bright spot (at a fab Japanese restaurant called Kanpai), and hoping the weather clears up for Pedal on Parliament tomorrow, when George may finally get a chance to hop on his new steed properly.

Mel preferred two other Isla shots of the day, namely cat on a mat; and staring out at the rain, with her favourite toy mouse (a little tweed thing made by Mel which has stood up to being thrown about all over the place from little claws) momentarily forgotten.
