Early spring

It's been really spring-like today, and I spent all afternoon gardening again. Perfect temperature, virtually no wind, and lovely sunshine! This forsythia has been trying to flower since weeks before Christmas. This time, it seems to be succeeding, and blue tits are finding little insects (I'm guessing) in its branches. The sun's close to setting now in a softly coloured sky, nothing dramatic, simply butter melting to gold.
