Birthday walk

Out for a birthday walk today. The sun was bright and the sky and new snow beautiful, but the forecast of "minus 2°C, feels like -8°C" was absolutely correct in the biting wind.  The last puffs of storm Otto blew snow drifts across the roads, and across the driveways to people's homes.  The few cars we saw were all driving carefully as the snow is "heavy" pulling at the car, and under it is a cm or so of hard ice.  A bit after I took this picture a snow plough came through and pushed it all back off the edge of the road.
The lake looked gorgeous with the sun shining across it's patterned snow surface (extra) and I took a closer view of the snow patterns on the field alongside the road. (extra 2)
