Pancake Day: The Prequel

Following the lecture this evening at the Royal Geographical Society I strolled round the corner to sis and bro-in-law's for a Shrove Tuesday rehearsal. This comprised not pancakes but galettes. 

A bonus was that Sue's grandson and my great nephew , Rupert, was there. It's always a pleasure to see him. The galettes were delicious. It's buckwheat apparently, which is gf because it's not actually wheat. With cheese and ham plus the egg they went down a treat.

And we did have actual pancakes with lemon juice and sugar for pudding. Staggered home on the tube afterwards.
