From Inverary Pier

Sat 18th
Last evening's exotic dining was just that. The Wellpark Hotel is one of the big Victorian mansions that abound in Tighnabruaich, and we fancied a peek inside. It didn't disappoint. We ate in a huge room with views down the Kyles through a big bay window. We sat next to a grand piano and just across from us was a fancy Chinese or Japanese sideboard with plans for rebuilding Americas Cup yachts. The Kyles is a very yachty place ! Oh ... the food was good too :-)

Woke this morning to the sound of rain on the roof. Short walk for Maeve the Deerhound. After breakfast we packed the car and with a last look at Arran we set off for home.

It dried up as we travelled up the Cowal peninsula and by the time we got to Inverary we decided to stop and have a walk round. Since it was dry we grabbed the chance to look for a blip.

Back in the car and onwards, stopping at the Green Welly Stop at Tyndrum for a sandwich lunch. The rain started again not long after we left Tyndrum and was heavy from Crieff to Dundee with lots of water on the roads. Next stop was Sainsbury's this side of Dundee to fill up the tank in Apothecary7's car, then home.

Not long 'til Orkney :-)
