house finch

I saw this bird in the tree yesterday, so I ran for the camera, thinking he'd probably be gone by the time I got back, but he was still there. However, by the time I changed to the longer lens , he WASN'T there. So I set up the camera in the front window this morning, re-filled the bird feeder, & just checked for him periodically. Finally, he came back & obligingly stayed perched among the blossoms long enough for me to get a few shots. (I had to look him up in the bird book, & it seems he's a male house finch.)
