Gently down the stream

Goldcrest

The goldcrests were doing their high-speed flitting act in the reserve this morning. At a shade less than 9cms they (and their close cousins, the firecrests) are the smallest birds in Europe, so I reckon this counts as a fair entry for TinyTuesday.  As for 'seasonal', with the current pairing excitement generally in evidence, hopefully this counts as good for the theme too.  Many thanks to dbifulco for hosting.

Just after I got home, extraordinarily I saw a hot air balloon scraping over the neighbours' rooftops.  With the mist and gloom it really didn't seem the day for it.  Hope they landed safely.

Nothing else about today, which has generally been domestic.  I think we're even going to miss out on pancakes as the thought of hauling my carcass up to Tesco Express for a lemon really doesn't appeal.  Perhaps we could do things all wrong and have them tomorrow ;))

Enjoy your evening (and pancakes)  xx
