Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

Neighborhood Cleanup

Our neighborhood association holds an annual spring cleanup event where, for a small fee, you can bring all the crap you've been collecting over the past year and get rid of it! They then dispose of it responsibly (i.e. environmentally). They accept, among other things:

Mixed and Bulky Waste (NO Hazardous Material)
Scrap Metal
Electronics (Computer monitors and accessories, tv's, small appliances, electronics)
Styrofoam
Scrap Lumber
Books and Magazines
Household items/ Clothing/Furniture
Reusable Remodeling Materials

At the same time, they have a plant sale and a U-price It Sale for reusable items, with proceeds to the association. It's a popular event and a very handy way to get rid of stuff and feel good about it. The photo shows bins filled with electronic junk.

The challenge word of the day: a collection or group.
