Saddling Up

I had a rare chance to get up close to watch a racehorse being saddled for the race. Pam Sly trains William Cody. He's a beautiful horse with a lovely temperament.

I was at Doncaster recently to watch him and today was lucky to be a guest of the owner to watch him race again, this time at Huntingdon. He was leading up to the last fence and just got pipped at the post. But it was a very creditable performance and Paul O'Brien, the jockey, gave him a good ride. He's a consistent horse and I will enjoy following his fortunes.

Thanks to all involved for letting me get in so close.
