Solid

This is the 'classic' view of our brewery. I had to post it somewhen and today is as good as any, because it is flying the Ukrainian flag. This is not cheap cashing in on a public mood. The brewery owners, management and staff have devoted time, money, resources and effort to fund raising, collecting needed supplies from donors and physically delivering it to Ukraine themselves. Tonight there is an auction of promises that I'm quite certain will raise several thousand pounds. The continued quiet solidarity with Ukraine's resistance to tyrany is remarkable. No need for dodgy dossiers. The flag is an authentic expression of that

After eight years of seeing this building daily, it still makes me smile. I'm sure that if it was proposed today it would be laughed out of the drawing office. It is a ridiculous smorgasbord of styles: a little bit oriental, a little bit mock-Tudor, a splash of Victorian cast iron, a sprinkle of dark satanic mills, throw in a hint of tithe barn and flash a wink to art deco and there you have it. If it wasn't a brewery, it would have to be a castle for a mad Count. But it still supports a decent business, a lot of employment, enjoyment for its many visitors and some half-decent beer
