Getting the sparkle back

Flower brooch

I made this quite a while ago at Coburg House at a silver clay workshop, where I also made a brooch from sycamore keys. The front part of this brooch is made from fine silver (= 99.9% silver) wire and it's held in place with silver clay (also 99.9% silver), to which is attached a steel wire pin. Fine silver wire wouldn't be strong enough to form the pin and you can't fire sterling silver (= 92.5% silver with 7.5% of other metal, usually copper) with silver clay, so that's why steel wire was used.
