What Passed By

Along the edge of the lake, animal tracks in the snow record the comings and goings of various animals. I think these prints are from a coyote, but not quite sure. I just liked the pattern they make alongside that of the snow ridges, which themselves look as though they've been raked.

Overhead I heard a sandhill crane pass, quite dinosaur like in its call. It's very early in the season, I wonder whether there's anything for them to eat.
