When The Rain Stopped

A heavy downpour until late afternoon left puddles everywhere amidst the yet to melt snow. It was hard to tell whether the lake had unfrozen, because of the standing water on its surface, but I don't think so.

A good opportunity to play around with reflections. I always enjoy the ambiguity caused by some elements being out of focus, creating distortions in perspective. There's also a story in this image of a fallen oak leaf surviving winter's ravages, emerging from a snow pile, alongside the reflected tree trunk, standing tall, from whence it came.
