The 4WD track from Arrowtown …

….. ….. ….. through the Arrow Gorge to Macetown, and then on through the Motatapu and on to Wanaka.
It’s going to be the scene for a race this coming Saturday, including bikers & walkers. I’ve heard that there are over 80 participants registered. I hope the weather holds for them. They won’t be wanting the river levels to rise.

A friend and I walked the Sawpit Gully Track this morning, together with Missy, who makes light of everything that is an effort for us. It’s a very steep pull up from Bush Creek up to Eichardts Flat, where the track then loops down towards the Arrow Gorge - that’s where this photo was taken. We enjoyed ourselves, taking in the views, listening to the birds (bellbirds, tuis, riflemen, grey warblers, fantails) the mountains and trees - as well as watching where we put our feet! We sure enjoyed a coffee and lunch after all that effort.
