Family Tree

Yesterday you got to meet one of our cats, Sophie Bundchen.

Today you get to meet Baby Blue Jay.

If I hadn't been studying the trunk of this tree for a possible blip photo, I probably would have missed this precious creature. Blip helps keep us grounded in the present moment. And for that, a big thank you to the creators of this sight.

I've never seen a baby blue jay, and his momma was squawking, higher up the family tree. A mother's love and protection. He froze for the longest time, then as I kept getting closer trying to get a better shot (I don't have a telephoto lens for my digital camera yet), and momma started getting louder, he tried to fly. He couldn't really do that, so he started climbing back up the family tree.

Have you noticed there's a family resemblance between all creatures in similar life stages. There's an innocence in his eyes and posture, like a newly walking toddler. And there's also wonder. We're all so connected and similar in this beautiful world of ours.

It's good to be reminded to stay in the present moment. The time of innocence and wonder is so beautiful and fleeting, gone in the blink of an eye.
