Sunshine, showers and rainbows

After a splendid breakfast at the B&B we drove in to the centre of Richmond for a wander round. We had intended to walk down to the old Station for a coffee, but decided that it was a bit too far in persistent drizzle. Neither of us fancied driving home in wet jeans! So we settled for a shorter walk down to the falls (extra) and a coffee in a café on the square.

Two market stalls on the square when we went back to the van, and we had a look at them with the intention of buying some fruit. Instead, attracted by winter aconites, we acquired a tray full of plants!

Then time to head north. I had an optician's appointment in Berwick-upon-Tweed at 2.20pm, and there was plenty of time so MrM, as usual, drove us a scenic route. On a day of sunshine and showers it was a lovely journey through some spectacular scenery. The Blip looks down towards Kirkby Stephen - definitely not on the direct route to Berwick! In the end the journey took somewhat longer than anticipated  - it was a very 'long way round' even by MrM's standards - and I made it to the optician's in the nick of time.

Finally, back home to unpack...
