Room with a view

We made the most of our day in Edinburgh.

We started by making use of our NTS cards and visiting the Georgian House (very interesting), looked in music shop which was closing down (an old favourite of T's), checked the arrangements for lunch tomorrow and then made our way to Mount Vernon cemetery, where T's mother, grandparents and other relations are buried.

We headed back into town for lunch and then visited the City Art Centre to see Ron O'Donnell's lost Edinburgh and Glean featuring work by women photographers. It was then back to hotel for much needed rest and then back out to O2 shop so I could a new phone (Samsung S23 (a step up from old S5).

It was then back to the theatre, this time the Playhouse to see Swan Lake by Varna International. I'd book a pre-theatre meal which made for a relaxed evening. You could even order interval drinks to have at your table. Very civilised.

I'd seen mixed reviews of Varna Ballet and so didn't have high hopes but actually rather enjoyed it. The principals especially Odette/Odille were very good.

It was very traditional and so very different from Peaky Blinders last night- two very contrasting experiences.

Both were pretty much sold out which it is good see.

We were also delighted to find a picture of our daughter in our room :-)
