The return to cooler weather looks like it may slow down the arrival of spring, but there were a few more signs around, including the first Marsh Marigolds in bloom.

These three Roe Deer were grazing above Red Brick Dam (and from this angle you can see how it gets its name) and for once I managed to find a quiet vantage point to watch them. They eventually got spooked by other walkers and dogs on the next path over, and took off for the woods. When I walked down to where they’d been it looked like they’d been stripping bark from a fallen tree.

Also, seven Mandarin ducks on the little pond and Buzzards patrolling the valley.
