A nuthatch returns

I saw this nuthatch swooping from the trees at the end of the garden, and clearing away two other birds from the sunflower store hanging over the patio. It didn't stay long on this visit.

I had my camera close by on my desk as I've been confined to bed for some time. I picked it up and readied it, opened the window just wide enough to poke the lens outside and waited.

I was lucky as it returned within a few minutes and before I became too cold.  Even better was its classic upside down feeding position on the feeder, and then its pose with a seed in its mouth.
