Eye, eye

This morning it was dull and chilly, again, but we had arranged a session at our Wildlife Area so we had to show up. We finished  processing  the coppiced  hazel spars into  lengths suitable for beanpoles, and other plant supports. We have created four lengths, from longest to shortest: the Colin, the  Martin -Maxi, the Helen, and the  Adrian's elbow! Martin is standing by said lengths, and the big pile of brushwood ready for burning in a couple of  weeks' time.

This afternoon, I went to collect my new spectacles, which are great. When fitting out the new optical practice, some antique furniture was sourced to complement  the old building, including this corner cupboard. Inside  are some ophthalmic artefacts, already in the possession of  the Company, including a set of prosthetic  eyes, contact  lenses, and a model of a Croydon tram advertising the company (then known as Rawling and Oldfield ) which was produced by Corgi  as a limited edition, over 25 years ago, if I remember correctly. The model tram  was based on a photo taken of a real tram in Crystal Palace, London,  in the 1920s.
Early to bed tonight as we have a busy day tomorrow!
