Belated Joe Tree Day

We got up early because we were going hiking. My sister and BIL found the Merkle Wildlife Management Area a few counties away earlier in the week so we decided to also check it out. The weatherman called for sunny skies and wind gusts up to 50 mph. We had some gusts that were close. The area has several ponds and its shoreline is on the Patuxent River. My sister saw more wildlife than we did but I think they were hunkered down against the wind today. We saw wild turkeys, several Canadian geese, cardinals, ducks, a shorebird, vultures, crows, juvenile eagles and a turtle. I really like the way this tree sits at the edge of the pond. Thought I’d showcase it in belated appreciation of Joe Tree. We picked up our dinner from the volunteer fire department and got three for Kristen, Chris and Chase. They were busy painting walls and cabinets. Then it was time to head home to get ready for Mass. It was another fun day for us. And we should have a quiet evening ahead of us. Thanks for the visit. Stay safe. “A tree has roots in the soil yet reaches to the sky It tells us that in order to aspire we need to be grounded and that no matter how high we go it is from our roots that we draw sustenance.”
