Sunshine and hailstones

Beautiful blue skies this morning but boy was it chilly. I nipped into town to drop off some things at the charity shop and then headed to the framing shop. I wanted to have the cross stitch I’ve made for my newest nephew framed before we head to Inverness in a couple of weeks. He was born on the 22nd and is a wee darling. Photos to follow when we meet him.

I decided to also take in a tapestry I made almost 40 years ago which has been languishing in a drawer ever since. It’s about time that it was framed.
I didn’t expect the rather eye watering prices but I guess it’s not just as simple as picking up a frame from the blue and yellow warehouse. Both pieces will need stretched before framing.

Mr PHL had to visit the DIY store this afternoon as apparently the two tool boxes he has in the garage are ‘too big’ to take with us on Thursday and he needed a smaller one with new spanner’s and screwdrivers to put in it.

I took Phin over to Newbattle and we had a good walk despite being caught in several showers of increasingly bigger hailstones. After being advised at the weekend that he’s a bit overweight and his food is quite high in fat, we’ve gone with a more meat and veg based food which arrives frozen and is defrosted before use. The company advises starting with small portions mixed in with previous food and gradually increasing quantities but I figured he copes with most things so hopefully he will be ok tomorrow!
