Rare species spotted in the River Almond...

After my hair appointment (which is now in Uphall) we drove along to the Livi carpark for a stroll along the River Almond to see the sights. It's a pleasant enough area though somewhat decorated with broken glass. The river was also interesting, we looked for dippers, kingfisher but they were absent, just a couple of supermarket trolleys, a bunch of escaped balloons, you know the sort of thing.

We walked upstream on the south bank as far as the bridge west of the Civic Centre. Here we met a trio of lads pushing a new supermarket trolley, of the type used by wheelchair users, which they appeared to wish to push into the river. I had the camera out, taking photos of blossom but they were quite brazen, posing with faces in full view, so I took their photos too then walked towards the Police Station close by as though I was intending passing the photos on, though I doubt it had any effect.

We returned on the north bank, saddened by the attitude of those who spoil areas of recreation, and the wastage of property.

Extra photo: the female flower on a hazel tree.
