Grandma's Pearls

A couple of months ago, when my sister and I  were helping my Mother pack up her belongings  before she  moved  to a Care Home,  we came across a couple of pearl necklaces in her  jewellery box, which had belonged to her mother- in- law, (our Grandma). My sister took them away to get them restrung .

Today I received  a package in the post in which I found a slim box containing a string of pearls. My sister has cleaned and restrung the  pearls, making three  necklaces, one for each of us, and another  set  to  send to our  sister in Australia. I'm really pleased at how good a job she has done. It is just a shame the necklaces had  sat in a drawer, forgotten and unworn,for over fifty years!
