Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another splendid blue skied day. A nice treat for us to be basking in glorious weather while down south people are stuck in snow on roads. 5° and no wind. Perfect winter weather.

I went to collect Pip, and then when JR came home, we took a wander down to a local cafe that we rarely never go to. I went once when it first opened, a few years ago, and was so shocked at a flat white being more than £3, that I never went back. I’ve got used to the cost of flat whites now.

One room was full of young mums with prams and squealing babies, so the dogs were not keen (neither was I), but there was another, quieter room with nobody in. We were served by a charming young man who - we noticed when the coffees were brought to us - happened to be wearing a mini skirt…

We then walked round by the hardware shop, where the doggies always get a treat (and they didn’t have what I wanted).

Back home, and it was such a beautiful day, we decided to go up the hill. We could see snow on all the hills around. (Looks like JR has some clouds around her head…) JR and the doggies set off, walking, but I drove there. They all walked home, too!

Hazel popped over in the afternoon. She’s getting VERY excited about her holiday next week - JAPAN! And actually, Pip’s mum and dad are off on holiday next week too. We can wait…

Six Nations weekend coming up!

And we’ve got a new Duke of Edinburgh!
