Sunshine and Snow

The snowy ground and afternoon sunshine transformed the normally grey and austere Old Kirkyard at Lonmay and emphasised the stateliness of the entrance. The two imposing gateposts flanking the entrance bear coats of arms belonging the Honourable Patrick Ogilvie MP and his wife Elizabeth. Ogilvie was MP for Elgin in 1708 when the first British Parliament was sitting. For a time he owned the lands of Lonmay.
