Garden flowers

WE drove to Johannesburg today - very early start (4.00 am wake up) to get Y to her appointment.
I was dropped off at friend Rose's home where these flowers were taken during a stroll around her garden.  It is the end of summer here so not a lot of colour in the garden.  We spent some time counting the seeds on the cone - thinking they were hexagonal we noted that they vary!
The Clivia looked lovely in the afternoon light as did the lobelia and the last of the dahlia.
Tomorrow we head for the Orange Free State to a farm owned by friends of Rose and Dave for a few nights.
