Jumping Through Hoops

A terrible day down in South Shropshire. Most of yesterday's snow is gone, turned to slush by rain and warmer temperatures.

Mucky. And depressing.

So, I pulled myself together and decided to share with you something of massive insignificance.

In our new bungalow we have a walk-in bay window. The curtains were on the wall inside the lounge, effectively closing off the bay when they were drawn.

So, Mrs I, and the inestimable D
(our daughter's housemate) came up with a clever solution.

A new system of curtain rails was employed to run around the inside of the bay, cleverly designed to follow all the angles, and the hoops have cut-outs that glide over the brackets that take the weight of the heavy curtain material

Genius.

The curtains are nearly seven feet high. I had to stand on the dog to get the pictures!
