Gloomy

We had planned to go down to Newcastle to visit Jacqui in hospital, but yesterday evening she was certain that she would be discharged today to stay with a good friend in Amble. Not surprisingly, she's really looking forward to being re-united with Fletch, her little dog. Plan A scuppered, so Plan B was formulated - we'll go to Amble tomorrow, visit Jacqui, and have a walk on the beach afterwards.

With today unexpectedly 'free', MrM and I both seem to be lacking in motivation, and after a leisurely cup of coffee or two we pottered for a while. Eventually, MrM caught up with some emails while I tackled some chores. After lunch we decided to walk the Humbleton round again, to see if we could find some snow. There may have been lots of it on the Pennines but very little has fallen in the Cheviots, and what there was has already melted away, except on the higher hills. No ice or snow to contend with on the tracks - mud was more of a problem! The Blip is almost the same view as that taken a few days ago, but on a very different afternoon. It was very gloomy and grey today, maybe why we had the hills to ourselves!

Made contact with Jacqui again this evening. She's still in hospital and extremely fed up. May be going down to Newcastle tomorrow...
