Love...

…………………..……is in the Air

Two monarch butterflies were enjoying the autumn sunshine - flirting and flitting around the garden. Love was definitely in the air!!

These two lovers glow when seen in large.

Inside the two caterpillar castles life continues the life cycle - with the last of the caterpillars munching their way through swan plant leaves, chrysalis still hang in various stages of colour and today nine butterflies emerged. They will be ready to be released tomorrow.

Thank you for visiting yesterday’s backblip showing a glimpse of Reefton which was the first town in New Zealand and the Southern Hemisphere to have electric street lighting.

We have previously stopped briefly as we passed through Reefton, but this time we chose to stay. Various walkways, original buildings of a bygone era, a swing bridge to the remains of the historical power station, which is being reconstructed, the informative visitor’s centre with a replica underground gold mine, plus museums, some open, some closed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
