At last the sun came out!

I think we’ve had a whole week of grey rainy sunless weather, so today’s sun was welcome. The sky was really blue after a bit of a cloudy start.

I note there have been some deliberate ‘leaks’ re tomorrow’s budget. I am thrilled that the wealthier of us will be able to pay less tax when they save up for extra pensions. The usual pattern is to make us think, the day before, that there will be good news for us all in the budget, but it usually turns out to be dull tinkering, that may benefit a few people by up to £30 a year! Then in the few days after the budget, more facts filter out, usually boring stuff about corporation tax or pay rises for politicians, and we’re not supposed to notice those! Because we’re too busy enjoying our extra £30, which will be instantly swallowed up in council tax rises!
