Isle of Wight Hovercraft

Tuesday 14th March 2023

It was raining when we set off to collect my aunt but the sun soon came out as we started our journey down memory lane. First we went up Portsdown Hill to the view point where we always went to fly kites. The view over Portsmouth was glorious.

Then we went down to Southsea, to Clarence Pier. After hot chocolate we watched the hovercraft come in and out and then went round the fair and amusement arcade for old times sake. We had fun on the 2p machine! We sat in the car having our picnic and watching the ships and hovercraft, then went for a drive all along the coast, up and over to Hayling Island. We had a little walk and I had a bit of time on the beach, dodging the waves which were crashing in. On the way home we went up and over the hill again.

After the evening meal I went down to Gosport for half an hour to catch the lights of Portsmouth - see extra. The day finished with another game of Nomination Whist.

All fabulous!
