Hallyu! The Korean Wave

I went with a friend to the Hallyu! Korean Wave exhibition at the V&A last week. It's taken me a while to sort out some images. I knew very little about South Korea and the story of the huge developments there in the last 50 years was so enlightening. Visually I loved the fashion exhibits, especially this hat display, but perhaps the most interesting thing was the story about K-pop and K-drama - I had no inkling how central K-pop is to South Korea's global soft power. We both found the exhibition to be overwhelmingly noisy and visually challenging so while it was fascinating, it was also exhausting. Thank goodness the gorgeous museum cafe was open!
