Almost Heaven…Except When It’s Not

We got up and got ready so we could take care of a few jobs. First on the list was putting my sister’s seedlings back in her cold frame. The threat of unusually high tides required the neighbor to move them to their garage a few days ago. We also filled up the pond; high winds had almost drained it. While we were there, this yellow-bellied sapsucker (according to the Seek app) kept us company. I took a stroll to the creek behind their home where a pair of Canadian geese were enjoying the beautiful day. Hubby accidentally scared the blue heron before I could get my pic. My sister’s gardens were starting to show off the spring flowers. So glad that high tide didn’t ruin them. As we left their driveway, I snapped a photo of the stunning Potomac River. Looking at these gorgeous views, you’d never know all the stress and issues they have with salt sea water destroying their hard work several times a year. As they say, almost Heaven…. But if our earthly lives were perfect, what would we have to look forward to? We headed to my mother’s next. Hubby gathered her tax paperwork while I helped her tidy the kitchen. She had company last night. Also filled up a few gallon jars of non-chlorinated water for the spoiled kitties. Hubby has meds to pick up and we’ll stop to get groceries to reload our pantry and refrigerator. Tonight, we will host a table at the annual CareNet benefit dinner. Tomorrow’s schedule is much quieter thank goodness. Thanks for visiting. Stay safe. “THEY SAY THAT IT'S ALMOST HEAVEN, BUT LIFE IS OUR HEAVEN ON EARTH.” - Anthony T Hincks
