Day trip out

No Caleb this morning - school strike day, so daddy took the day off;

Collected a friend and drove into Crowthorne, coach for the trip arrived promptly to leave at 9:30am. A group of 20 of us, on a day trip to Hampton Court Palace.

Arrived in good time, straight for a comfort break and a coffee. Those chimney stacks are amazing and many.different styles. We had booked for a tour guide for 2 hours, talking through parts of the palace, talking about tge history/complexities at tgat time (well it was Henry VIII). Our tour guide has spoken at our Lace Day twice now, on her work as a tour guide and history of the building and residents. Brilliant tour, although quite a few children tour groups today, children (?aged 7 or 8?) and they were noisy, felt sorry for the teachers “keeping tabs on them” and/or those little ones that might not be good with their behaviour……

At the end of the tour, 3 of us sat in the garden eating our packed lunch. Then continued around the gardens, looked at the worlds oldest and longest vine as well as the well tendered gardens (those trees are so great, uniformed clipping).

Back at the coach for 3pm and the trip back to our car.

What a lovely day, great company too.
