¡Bienvenido!

Not the best photo, taken through the windscreen as day was ending, but I love the sculpture, which is on a roundabout next to the El Faro shopping centre in Badajoz, where we spent quite a few hours today.

She apparently symbolises the city of Badajoz giving a welcome to her Portuguese neighbours, who are just a couple of kilometres away from here; many of them come to shop at El Faro. She is made of bronze and is five and a half metres high, on a seven and a half metre pedestal, by the local artist, Ricardo García Lozano.

We were on our way to Évora this morning to buy a window for the bit we're building, but stopped at the post office on the way, and miracle of miracles, there was Mike's Portuguese driving licence, so decided to celebrate by going to Spain instead (it's about the same distance).

Gratefuls:
- Mike getting his licence! It's been years.
- gelato in a crispy cone, not the best, but pretty good
- Julia coming up with a great sermon on a difficult passage, and with extremely broken nights at the moment, thanks to Eden
