Prejudice and Persecution

A very long day filled with good and productive meetings in three different places and several hours of driving. Just got back, way gone midnight, so this will be quick, and will try to catch up with comments tomorrow (later today, technically).

The photo was in Bia's pizzaria in Mora, where we spent a few hours. The lad who is helping her is from the Cigano community. He has been, as she says, impeccable, the best help she's had yet in all the years she's had the pizzaria, and yet many in the town won't set foot in the place anymore because he works there, and they have suffered financially and in other ways. Longer story than this, but I feel very proud of their stand.

Gratefuls:
- Mike's driving and getting home safely
- a truly delicious Brazilian feijoada with maize cuscuz, garlicky cabbage, orange slices, and all the other accompaniments
- Bia and Vítor's commitment to doing the right thing
